WHP membership
WHP membership is open to licensed health practitioners who meet our requirements. Each application is reviewed by our Credentials Committee.
About membership
Members are licensed practitioners who have had their license and supporting documents reviewed by WHP. Membership is renewed each year so that every member’s professional standing is reviewed again.
Who can join
Practitioners who hold a valid license or registration in one of these fields:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
- Dentist (D.D.S.)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.S.)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.)
- Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.)
- Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.)
- Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (D.C.N.)
- Doctor of Natural Medicine (D.N.M.)
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
- Doctor of Oriental / Chinese Medicine (D.O.M. / D.T.C.N.)
- Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (D.H.M.)
- Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.)
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.)
- Doctor of Occupational Therapy (O.T.D.)
- Other licensed health practitioners
What members receive
- A Certificate of Membership
- The iDrCard®, the WHP member identifier, with a unique number that can be confirmed online
- An optional professional profile page
- Access to member services on idrcard.com
Membership process
Application
The practitioner completes an online application and provides their license, identification and supporting documents.
Credential review
The Credentials Committee reviews the documents and may ask for more information. Approval is not guaranteed.
Decision
Approved applicants receive their Certificate of Membership and iDrCard®. Applicants are informed of every decision by email.
Annual renewal
Each year, members provide a document showing they remain in good standing so their membership can be renewed.
Fees
- Membership itself is free.
- A credential-review fee of US$250 is paid when applying. It covers the committee’s review and is non-refundable, including when an application is declined.
- The annual renewal review fee is US$100.
- A membership that expires must be applied for again as a new application.
Member services
Applications, renewals, member accounts and verification are provided through iDrCard®, the WHP member platform.
