About WHP
Who we are
World Health Practitioners (WHP) is an independent, international membership organization for licensed health practitioners.
Our mission
To help qualified health practitioners be recognized beyond borders through a simple, trustworthy professional identifier, and to keep our community informed with reliable global health news.
WHP welcomes practitioners from a wide range of doctoral health professions – from medicine and dentistry to pharmacy, psychology, physical therapy and more.
What we do
- Review the credentials of practitioners who apply for membership
- Issue the iDrCard® and a Certificate of Membership to approved members
- Renew each member’s review every year to keep standards current
- Offer members a professional profile page
- Share the latest health news from public health agencies
How we work
WHP is run by its Executive Office, which manages membership services and day-to-day operations. Applications and renewals are assessed by our Credentials Committee.
Executive Office
Oversees the organization, membership services, communication with members and the operation of the iDrCard® platform.
Credentials Committee
Reviews each application and annual renewal against the applicant’s license and documents. The committee may ask for more information or decline an application.
Members
Licensed practitioners who meet our requirements and keep their membership in good standing through an annual review.
Our principles
Integrity
Every decision is based on the documents provided. Paying a review fee never guarantees approval.
Privacy
Applicants’ documents are kept private and are only seen by authorized reviewers. They are never shown on public pages.
Transparency
Fees and policies are clearly stated before payment, including that the credential-review fee is non-refundable.
Independence
WHP is an independent organization. It is not affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO) or any government agency.
Important
Membership in WHP and the iDrCard® are not a license to practice in any jurisdiction. They do not replace the requirements of a practitioner’s licensing or regulatory authority.
